Both Windows and LibreOffice come with a full array of basic fonts, but if you need/want some more, try this site:
They're not kidding about the 1001 part. There are a number of lovely calligraphy fonts, and each font has a Windows download button right next to it. You can even type into the Custom Preview box to see what a particular phrase will look like in that font. CAUTION: don't click on the link below each font that wants to sell you more fonts. The 1001 should really be enough...
Be sure to scroll down at each set of fonts. Several have multiple pages (numbers at bottom). Once you put in your sample phrase (I use my name) it automatically appears for each Custom Preview.
Instructions for adding fonts (on Windows computers)
1. Once you find a font you want, click on the download button. (Make sure the font is free or donationware - which allows you the option to donate money to the font designer, or requires you to donate if using the font for commercial purposes. Also, if there is both a Windows and Mac version of the font, be sure that you are choosing the version compatible with your computer.)
2. Find the file you just downloaded. If you are on a networked school computer, the default location is the Downloads folder on your U: drive. The file name should be something like "fontname.zip"
3. Double click the folder to open it.
4. Find the font file, which will be named something like "fontname.ttf" then drag and drop the file to your desktop.
5. From the Window start menu (in the lower left corner of your screen), under Control Panel, click Fonts. This will open your Fonts folder.
6. Drag and drop the fontname.ttf file from your desktop into the Fonts folder. A box should pop telling you the "Install Font Progress" and it should move up to 100% very quickly.
It may seem like an extra step to move the font file from your downloads folder to your desktop before moving it to the Fonts folder, but that is a necessary step.
NOTES:
1) If LibreOffice was open when you installed the font, the program will need to be restarted before your changes will take effect.
2) These fonts will not work with Google's G Suite web apps. When working with G Suite apps, we have to use the fonts that Google provides.
3) It is possible to upload additional fonts to LucidPress.
